CMCI Awarded Tax Credits

Citizens Medical Center, Inc. has been awarded $200,000 in tax credits from the Department of Commerce through the Community Services Tax Credit Program.

This is the fourth tax credit award CMCI has received. Our first award was in 2002 for the expansion of the diagnostic services area. In 2005 our award was used to expand Family Center for Health Care in and 2009 the tax credits helped us replace outdated HVAC systems at CMC.

The $200,000 award will have a net benefit of $285,000. These monies will be used toward our health care expansion campaign and the further expansion of the clinic.

We anticipate the demand for these credits to be high as we have already received a great deal of interest. Keep in mind that because of our rural designation, participants in the program will receive 70% of their total donation as a direct tax credit against any Kansas state income tax liability.

If you are interested in tax credits through this program, talk to Tama Unger in the Citizens Foundation Office, extension 214.
